Band Update-Week of August 18th 2019

I hope you all enjoyed the Western Welcome Week Parade yesterday. Didn’t the band sound fantastic and the color guard perform beautifully!! So proud of all of our marching band members!! By all reports, the kids all had a great time at Red Robin after the parade.

A HUGE THANK YOU to all those who helped this weekend with last minute uniform fittings, taking videos and photos, collecting plumes, watering the band, carpool and cheering on the band as they marched by on Main St. It does take a village and we appreciate all your efforts and including band in your busy lives!

Please don’t forget to STOCK THE PANTRY

Each year we ask families to contribute snacks to Marching Band. These are snacks available on the bus when the band travels to parades or marching band festivals. See the list below for what to bring. Please be sure the expiration date on the snacks is after December, 2019!

  • Freshmen: 12 individual serving packs of chips or crackers.
  • Sophomores: 12 individual servings of granola bars or fruit snacks.
  • Juniors: 12 individual serving packs of cookies or crackers.
  • Seniors: 12 individual servings of cookies or fruit snacks.

There is  a bin in the band room to collect snack donations.

THIS WEEK

Monday Aug 19th:

Band Practice: 4pm – 6.30pm

Tuesday Aug 20th:

Band practice: 4pm – 6.30pm   *Note this Tuesday practice replaces Thursdays

Wednesday Aug 21st:

Band Practice: 4pm – 6.30pm

Thursday Aug 22nd:

Back to School Night: 6pm – 9pm

Some members of the Marching Band will be playing pep tunes in the Quad. In your students off period, consider purchasing dinner from the Marching Band fundraiser – Chic-fil-A. Tickets will be sold near the baseball field and at West Café. Then stop by the Quad to enjoy the band. Band members are not required to play at Back to School Night but those that choose to certainly  have fun entertaining the passers by. Please have your student wear their band shirt.

    • Full Dinner with Chicken Sandwich – $10
    • Full Dinner with Vegetarian Wrap – $10
    • Chicken Sandwich only – $6
    • Bottled Water – $1
    • Chips – $1

The first home football game and CCHS Spirit Night is Friday Aug 30th

Creek Spirit Night will start at 5pm and the Marching Band will play pep tunes. Call and other details in next weeks email.
