Hello Band Families,

What a roller coaster of a week … we went from being so very disappointed the State Championships were canceled to beaming with pride watching our kids perform ’One Track Mind’ one last time!

Thank you to the Directors and staff for giving the kids the opportunity to perform the show they have worked tirelessly on and thank you to the entire marching band for giving us (family and friends) the opportunity to see the show for the last time and for some of us, to see our student possibly march for the last time ever! THANK YOU!!

I would also like to take the opportunity to say THANK YOU to each of you who have supported and helped the marching band this season. As I’ve mentioned many times before, it takes a village and the marching band community is one of the very best. The season truly wouldn’t and could not happen as it does without your support and dedication. A huge and sincere THANKS to each of you!

The competitive part of the season may be over but the marching band still have football games to play at.

Please put the following schedule in your calendars

November  1st Home Football Game

Performing ‘the closer’ at half time in uniform (weather permitting) Directors just learned that late yesterday. Another performance … wahoo! We look forward to it!!

November  15th Playoff Game

Playing pep tunes in the stands – dress in spirit wear

December 7th Championship game at Mile High Stadium (if CCHS advance)

THIS WEEK

NO PRACTICE this week!

Regular practice is over for this season!

Friday Nov 1st: Football Game.

  • The band will be served dinner at 5:30 before getting into uniform and marching down to Stutler Bowl.
  • In order to make good use of some of the food we have leftover from our Competition Meals, we are going to offer a Quesadilla meal at 5:30 pm this Friday night, before the football game. As usual, we will have options for vegetarian, gluten free, dairy and nut free needs as well. Thanks to our Saxophone and Drumline families for helping with this! If your student plays a sax or a drum and you did not get the sign up, you can access it here:

KEEP IN MIND

The Awards Night will be held sometime in January and as soon as the facilities are secured, we will let everyone know so you can put that date in your calendar as well.

For new band families, the Awards Night is a celebration of the Seniors in marching band. Students who have earned their marching band letter have that honor presented and the annual ‘Libby Awards’ are always something to look forward to. Even though it is typically a senior celebration it is a fun evening for the whole band as well as families. Dinner will be available before the awards part of the evening. Stay tuned!!

Have a wonderful week and see you Friday at the football game!

GO BAND!! GO CREEK!!
