1 | 2021 CCHS BPA Silent Auction

1a.  Announcing the 2021 Annual Silent Auction present by the Cherry Creek High School Band Parent Association.

The auction will be held using the online platform Bidding Owl.  Auction items will included local business gift certificates, memorabilia, and experiences. Auction is scheduled to start on Friday, September 24, 2021 @ 12 pm MDT and will continue through the Sept. 28th Band Concert.  You will be able preview auction items starting Wednesday, September 22, 2021 @ 12 pm MDT at https://www.biddingowl.com/2021CCHSBPAAuction

Meantime here are a couple of spotlighted items that will be up for bid:

  • Auction Experience Spotlight:  Disney World Vacation For 4.  This Experience Includes:
    • $1,000 in Disney gift cards redeemable toward admission, food, or souvenirs
    • 4-night stay in one standard guest room at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress
    • Round-trip coach class airfare for 4 from within the 48 contiguous U.S. to Orlando, FL
    • Access to travel booking & concierge service
    • Walt Disney World is a nearly 40-square-mile self-contained city and the world’s biggest amusement park. There are four main parks, each with their own themed areas. Did you know?

  • The Auction is the biggest fundraiser for the band.
  • The proceeds from the auction support all of the band programs at Cherry Creek High.
  • 40% of the band’s costs are covered through donations and fundraising.

How is the money used?

  • To buy and refurbish instruments
  • To assist with other learning opportunities
  • To cover transportation costs
  • To send students to festivals
  • Hire training specialists to keep our amazing music program in top-notch condition

1b.    Donate Items & Happenings Events

  • We still need your help to make the 2021 auction a success.  Donation ideas and instruction on how to donate can be found here.

1c.  Section Baskets assembled by Section Leaders

  • Last week an email was sent to all Section Leaders to begin working on the Required Section Baskets for the auction.  The Due date for these baskets is September 17th.  Please see this link for very detailed information and instructions as how to proceed.  Please talk with your band section leaders.   Any questions, please refer to the contact information within the letter.

2 | Monarch Marching Festival Support

Details about the competition will be sent and posted on the 2021 Competition Details under News & Events on the website and in the Google Calendar event when available.

2a.  Baritone & Tuba Parents

Hello Tuba & Baritone Parents! We get to start off the season with a low tone! Please review the available slots on SignUpGenius and sign up. Thank you! Feel free to contact me with questions!  Jen Gallo

2b.  Pit & Props Crew

At marching band competitions & home football games, the bands have a just a couple of minutes to get the props and all of the pit instruments on to the field.  The band depends on family & friends to help make that transition as quickly as possibly to avoid penalties.  Please consider signing up to help at Prelims, Finals or both at this Pit & Prop SignUpGenius.  If not Monarch, please consider other dates as well.  Question?  Lisa Kelly

2c.  Plumes

At marching band competitions & home football games, the band needs 2 parents to distribute the plumes before and to collect the plumes after each performance.  For the Monarch Festival, we are still looking for 1 parent to help with prelims.  Use this Plumes SignUpGenius to volunteer for the Monarch opening or additional dates as well.  Questions?  Cathy Dundon or Natalie Dube’

3 | Spirit Wear & Directories

Spirit Wear and Band Directories will be distributed to the students after Thursday, 9/9/2021 practice.
